Children's Church

July 26, 2017

Children's Church will begin again on Sunday, August 6, for Pre-K through 1st grade.  Be sure to check the bulletin each Sunday to know when the kids will exit the sanctuary.  It varies, at times, and there are even Sundays throughout the year when we will not have Children's Church, including 5th Sundays.

Help is always needed in Children's Church, so if you would like to help out one month (September, January, May), contact Kim Boothe ( The curriculum is easy to follow.  Families often lead together, or individuals can grab a friend to help.  It's a fun & rewarding place to volunteer!

For those who have now "graduated", teaching them to sit still & quiet can be a challenge.  BUT, it can be done!  :)  And, we are not just teaching them to sit still & quiet, but to listen with their ears, ponder with their minds & God's Word will penetrate their hearts.
At first, you may want to consider packing a small "busy bag".  I suggest if you choose to bring something for your child to color, consider Color Wonder or something that will not leave a permanent mark on the cushions or carpet.  Pinterest has some great ideas such as a puzzle made out of popsicle sticks & a photograph, felt crafts, & lacing cards.  After the service, ask questions that require more than a yes/no.  You may be surprised at how well your child listened while their hands were busy!
