Children and Advent Services

November 29, 2018

Hey parents!

Don't forget that there is no children's church in the month of December so that your kids can enjoy the special season of Advent with you in corporate worship. Here's a couple of tips to help make this a success!

Activity Bags - There will be activity bags available for your kids (ages 4 - 6th grade) in the foyer each Sunday morning. These have been designed and created by the Children's Ministry Leadership Team to help engage your children at their level in what is being preached as well helping them grasp the meaning of our traditions. Stop by and pick one up!

Christmas Playlist - We have created a Spotify playlist of the carols we will be singing the Sunday mornings of Advent. (Link below). If you don't use Spotify you can set up a free account to listen to the playlist. This will help your kids be more familiar with the tunes and the words of the songs we are singing on Sunday morning so that they can better participate. (Plus, music helps to capture our hearts in an incredible way so let's capture our kids hearts with O Come, O Come Emanuel instead of Jingle Bells!)

Advent Parent Packet - This Sunday, we will be sending a parent's packet home with all FBC Kids (all ages) which outlines an Advent reading for you to do at home via the Jesus Storybook Bible. Additionally, there are ornaments they can make each day to go along with the story. This is a tool to help you as a parent focus on what's really important this season and to, again, capture your child's heart with the glory of our God come near in order to bring us near!

Merry Christmas!
