Worship Preparation for December 16

November 27, 2019

The season of Advent begins this Sunday.  We will focus this Advent season on who Jesus is from eternity past to eternity future.  We will examine this Sunday the anticipation of His coming as it is recorded for us in Isaiah 8-9 written around 700 years before Jesus was born.  Isaiah would prophecy of a virigin born boy who would be the light of the world as the one who is sovereign over all the world.  He would tell us 700 years before the coming of Jesus that the passion of God for the praise of His Name in the fulfillmnet of His purpose for HIs world "would do this."  We gather to remember on Sunday what was proclaimed 700 plus years before it happened and to rejoice that God has done it.  it is why we stand upon the Word of God teaches about salvation:  it is from God and for God.  It is His salvation that comes to us by grace and mercy because of God's great love for us in Jesus.  It is not our salvation based on what we have done or do.  It is His salvation based only on what He has done that comes to us mercifullly as a great and gracious gift to sinners.  Rejoice, the Lord is come.
