Deacon Nomination for Term: 2021 - 2023

October 5, 2020

Deacon Nomination
Term: 2021 - 2023
Deacons first served in the church as men who met the needs of neglected widows (Acts 6:1-6).  They would later be given status as officers in the church along with Elders (1 Timothy 3).  The elders would serve the church as the spiritual leaders both in teaching the Word of God and leading the church in establishing and fulfilling her mission.  The deacons would serve the church in giving care to the members of the church family and giving oversight to the practical affairs of the congregation.
FBC Waynesboro operates with elders and deacons.  We are asking you to look out over the adult men of this congregation and nominate up to five men for this service.  These men need to be members of the church who are actively involved in the life of the church.  They need to be men who are leading their families well.  They need to be men who support the vision and mission of FBC Waynesboro.  Read carefully 1 Timothy 3 and seek the Lord for your nominations.  Write your nominations of men for this office and submit by October 19, 2020.
The following men are not eligible due to their current service as elders or deacons: Kevin Boothe, James Coble, Kelly Rodgers, Brian Saxon, Paul Williams, Jesse Palmer, J R Riggs, Rusty Rowell, Michael Welch, Johnny Brookins, Jerry Counselman, Doug Dojan, and John Partridge, Glen Ashe, John Hardy, Irby Cochran, Charlie Fales, Steve Southard, Boyce Thompson, Joel Coble.
